When it came time to planning our wedding, we really knew what we wanted from the start. Our relationship was always full of romance and we wanted that same feeling for our wedding. We spent almost a full year planning the big day, and we were both pretty hands on from the start. I made my own bouquet and wedding invitations, and my husband-to-be even created some wedding d cor pieces – he did everything from painting to gluing! When it came to the actual wedding day, I was really not nervous at all, most of my wedding guests were surprised how calm I was! When I walked down the aisle and I saw my husband, I could not have been more in love and could not have been happier that our moment had finally arrived. When we look back at our pictures (which are scattered on every wall in our house now!), we could not have asked for a better day. We had a small and intimate wedding, full of our closest family and friends, and the day just brings up that fuzzy feeling all over again when we think about it. Out of all people, my doctor told me to stop and enjoy the day, and not sweat the small stuff – something he said he didn’t do at his wedding and later regretted. I remember taking that advice to heart when it came to our day. I really took the time to enjoy every moment and look at everything around me that day – and it made all the difference!
