3 Last Minute Glitter Wedding Ideas

All that glitters is gold – sequins, tinsel, sparkles, stars, studs, these are all hot-hot-hot wedding trends for 2014. So if you’re suddenly realizing you’ve fallen in love with glitter and are on the hunt for some last minute glitter wedding ideas, here are some crafts you can do quickly and easily to incorporate for your summer 2014 wedding.

Glitter Clothes Pin A simple glitter wedding idea that is surprising versatile. I actually used spray painted clothes pins to both attach my escort cards to my seating chart and to prop up my seating cards. They could also easily hold up menus or table numbers as well. You can do this DIY two ways – you can either spray the clothes pins with spray adhesive (which you can find at Michaels or less expensive at Canadian Tire) and then dip them in glitter OR you can order glitter washi tape and tape it on. First option is messy, second option finicky – your call!

Glitter Dipped Feather Reason we love this DIY? The range of colour choices. SO MANY OPTIONS. The potentially hardest part might be sourcing your feathers, but otherwise you can either dip or spray paint the ends of the feathers and then sprinkle glitter on the tips. These would look great added to your centre pieces and bouquets, just be sure to talk to your florist so it can be worked in to your flower design!

Glittering candle holders What I like about this craft is that it looks fantastic when the lights are dimmed at the end of the night – the flicker of the candles (real or LED) really make the glitter sparkle and there are a million ways to do this craft. For adhesive, you can use mod podge (which is just one part white glue, one part water), spray adhesive, or even double sided tape if you want to do stripes or a chevron pattern. I’m sure you can guess the next step – glitter on, my friend! For the especially efficient crafter (maybe you want to do 200 of these) you can buy glitter spray paint which would simply require a shot of paint on the inside of the candle holder and boom, you’re done. Efficient but fumey and potentially more costly.
