Going Green: Environmentally Friendly Invitations and Stationery

It’s easy being green!

Out with the inner envelope! There was a time when including a decorative inner, and protective outer envelope was considered proper decorum. This protocol was inherited back in the 18th century, when mail was primarily delivered by horseback. These days however, with delivery by horseback becoming less and less frequent, it is considered perfectly appropriate to use only the outer envelope, when required.

Want to take it one step further? Try a postcard style RSVP card that requires no envelope for its return, or have all reply’s directed to your wedding reply email and opt out of the reply card completely. Not only will you save money, you will also save trees! Who knew it was that easy to be green?

If you love the idea of paper invitations and still want to provide your guests with that special keepsake, but going green is a priority, consider a single card invitation that gives the necessary information for your wedding and invites the recipient to visit your wedding website for more details on your big day. This is a beautiful way to provide that special something to guests, while saving paper and best of all, you can really splurge on a gorgeous invitation!
