Khalil’s version of how he met Faruqa involves her dancing on a speaker in a club,
rocking out. Faruqa’s version is actually the naked truth in which Khalil’s parents invited Faruqa and her sister over for dinner one fine winter evening, as a tribute to their friendship with the bride’s parents back in the day. Now instant messaging buddies, Khalil became more and more intrigued with her over binary conversation,particularly as she battled through a chronic cough, caused by a latent pertussis infection. After asking him one day to read through her chest x-ray, it became apparent to Khalil that Faruqa was the one, and the rest becomes history.
