Today on the CB Blog, I’m thrilled to welcome back Lyana Gilbert of The Art of Beauty, a premier wedding makeup collection out of Calgary and Vancouver. Lyana conceptualized this beautiful cultural inspired wedding shoo – we can’t wait for you to see this shoot!
Few celebrations bring people together with as much joy and excitement as a wedding. Celebrated globally, the focal point of a wedding is generally none other than the bride. The day two people decide to embark on the journey of life together is a pretty important day, one that will be remembered for a lifetime. And of course, every bride wants to look her best on this special day.
This shoot was conceptualized by Lyana Gibert, founder of The Art of Beauty, a team of Vancouver and Calgary makeup artists and hairstylists, Lyana choose an eastern wedding theme, specifically a Pakistani wedding.
Today, we are fortunate to live in a global community, and as such, we are exposed to a variety of different cultures and traditions. As well, we are now afforded the luxury to have destination weddings, creating more exposure for ourselves and others to the different global wedding customs around the world.
Since we live in a multicultural community here in Canada, three girls with varying ethnic backgrounds were chosen to model these bridal hairstyles and bridal makeup for the Pakistani wedding looks in this shoot.
Pakistani weddings are quite vivid and ornamented compared with Western weddings. Traditional bridal clothing worn in Pakistani weddings are usually an expensive lehenga or gharar in a vibrant colour and it is also quite common to have patterns on these designs.
As we see in the photos showcased, very colourful tones and hues were used in the bridal makeup to compliment the garments worn. Pakistani bridal garments are always exquisitely made and very detailed, so having bridal makeup that compliments and matches these impressive designs seems only fitting.
Makeup artist Lyana Gibert carefully selected eye and lip colors that beautifully coincide with the garments worn. The hues of the makeup chosen work harmoniously with the color of the garments. Expertly applied, the makeup transforms these models into regal beauties, tying the whole look together creating a picturesque and timeless look.
To accompany this multicolored attire, Pakistani brides typically adorn themselves with heavy jewelry. For these weddings, bridal hairstyles are often accented with classic jewelry, which are as elaborate as the bridal makeup, perfectly complimenting one another but never out doing the other.
The overall look created on these brides is something quite majestic as the models chosen demonstrate for us perfectly.
No doubt the wedding makeup and the wedding hairstyles are the finer details that pull together the bridal image for this theme and create something extraordinary. From the photos, we can see just how much work goes into getting the bride ready for her wedding day and how elegant and picturesque the bride looks like a whole when its all done with the expert hands of a talented and trained bridal hairstylist and makeup artist.
