Throwback Thursday: Rustic Love Story by Mountain Bride

How about a little Throwback Thursday love from the team at CB? Two years ago, this shoot designed by Lisa Grosso at Mountain Bride was featured in the Calgary Bridal Guide, and it’s so sweet, we wanted to share it again. Shot by Tara Whittaker Photography, it’s a beautiful mix of rustic glamour, with natural elements paired with feminine pinks, creams and whites. What makes this shoot one of our favourites is it features design details for both indoors and outdoors. This combination is exactly how many Alberta couples plan their wedding days – breathtaking outdoor experiences and intimate indoor moments. Here’s a little snippet about the shoot from Lisa herself.

A coffee date with Lisa Vettese from Calgary Bride opened up the most awesome invitation to create a stylized photoshoot for the Calgary Bridal Guide! I was given a color palate and quickly knew the different vendors I wanted to work with. We did three table designs; Romantic table inside a private lodge, Rustic table in a poplar grove and a Sweets table against a weathered woodshed. Playing with elegant and rustic elements is my design style. I loved taking the rustic style of an antler chandelier and having Flowers by Janie fill it with the most gorgeous romantic flowers. The colors just pop with the pale pinks and pops of coral. The design was rounded out with elegant coral linens with charcoal grey charger plates and napkins. I wanted to show that rustic can be balanced with gorgeous romantic flowers and beautifully designed stationery that enhance the intrinsic beauty of elements like birch vases, antlers, and slate slabs for a table runner.
