Be still my beating heart. As the Online Editor for CB for the last five years, I have seen my fair share of weddings. While romance still makes me swoon, nothing dazzles me more than brides with a bit of an edge. The amazing Trena Olfert of TrenaLaineMakeupArtist has taken bohemian chic to the streets and imagined a sexy, modern bride with amazing style and presence. Photographed by Jess Bobyn fot.o.graph, model Rayna wears her Laura George gown fiercely. Accented with jewels from Ellinor Stenroos of EVStenroos and hair and makeup by Shoot Director Trena, I’m all about the tranquil urban cool of this shoot. From the Director, Trena Olfer
Taking something pretty and unpredictable in an urban setting that is dirty, dusty, rough and unusual from giant garbage bins to broken walls. Our model was professional enough disregard all of that and have fun twirling in her heels.
Boho chic feeling with dresses from local designer, Laura George, that flow, bounce when our model walked or stood in the breeze.
Stark white dresses give us a sense of playfulness allowing the model to feel pretty and child-like. Jewellery from talented EV Stenroos was chunky and tribal like, popping out against not the gowns but on the model’s delicate structure and frame.
Makeup completely bare, accentuating all the right delicate features while hair was blown out of messy proportion and showcasing a wrangled braid. Not your usual choices for bridal makeup and hair and that is exactly what we wanted. Unpredictability, something different but still so romantic you can’t help but stare at the model’s perfection and beauty.
Jess Bobyn, the photographer, captures the feeling of Urban Boho so well but also shares the delicateness and femininity of our model. Was a fun fashion inspiration shoot that allows us to get out of the norm, the box and share with the world as this may be unpredictable looks, photos and styling, it can still be romantic, timeless and divine.
