Vintage Bridesmaids Inspiration

This week, we’re welcoming back the amazing Aldona B, Street Style Huntress is back with some amazing vintage bridesmaids inspiration!

One of my favourite things about the work that I do is having the opportunity to meet all of the amazing people that I get to meet in the process, and not only that, I love learning about what they do, what inspires them, and naturally, how they might just inspire me.

Enter Nita Breibish, the talented woman behind the online vintage store BOX & BURROW. She’s a self proclaimed second-hand sifting soul and collector, and her passion and style clearly shines though with the unique clothing she has available in her shop.

Her love of vintage, travel and other artistic endeavours goes way back, but can clearly be pinpointed to when she was 19 and relocated to New York City, where she spent the next 11 years. This is where she discovered her many creative passions, including fashion, home decor, photography, motorcycles, music, vintage, and of course, travel.

Aside from her stint in NYC, Breibish has travelled extensively over the past 20 years and has been inspired by various cultures, where of course, she picked up special pieces for her home and wardrobe. The idea of marrying her passions for vintage and travel grew, and after nearly two years after returning from a long-term motorcycle journey that took her through 41 countries, over 5 continents in 2.5 years, Box & Burrow was born.

The best part about vintage – well, there are many. Purchasing vintage means you are not just recycling, but you are also buying a piece of history and acquiring an item that may even possibly increase in value over time. And of course, creating a unique look with pieces from various decades and eras is pretty much priceless, if you ask me!

Here are a few outfit ideas that you might just want to incorporate into your bridal or bridesmaids looks.

LOOK ONE: COLOUR & FUR

Vintage Bridesmaids Fashion

For the first look, I really wanted to showcase this beautiful Asian inspired dress. The print and colours are incredible, and can be paired and accessorized in so many different and unique ways. I love a little fur wrap, so that was obvious, and the colourful bracelet and beaded purse really complete the look.

LOOK TWO: DELICATE DETAILS

The really delicate flower detail on the dress really sold me – it’s so understated, yet beautiful, with that perfect vintage feel. Due to the colours in the dress, I chose a great leaf necklace in gold, and of course, a little 70’s fur jacket to cover up.

LOOK THREE: BOHO BRIDE

This lace boho wedding dress is even more beautiful in person, with the pearl buttons on the back and the lace detail on the bodice and sleeves. To showcase a little versatility, I once again used the fur neck wrap, but added a bit of colour in a floral patterned handbag. Add a unique and funky ring, and top it off with a bold red lip, and you’re ready to take the world by storm – vintage style, of course.
