There is a particular kind of beauty that emerges when a celebration feels completely at home in its surroundings. La Saison Dorée, meaning “The Golden Season,” was created by photographer Rachel of Baskin Creative Co. as an editorial exploration of romantic elegance, an ode to the beauty of late summer, timeless design, and the effortless romance found in a garden in full bloom.

Set at the historic Government House in Regina, Saskatchewan, the editorial brings together architecture, gardens, fashion, florals, paper, and tablescape details in a celebration that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Every element was thoughtfully considered to complement the natural character of the setting rather than compete with it.

The result is a wedding story that feels graceful, feminine, and enduring.

Inspired by the Golden Season

The creative direction began with a soft, luminous palette of ivory, blush, champagne, soft pink, and fresh green. Rather than relying on bold colour or excessive ornamentation, the design embraces subtle layers such as different textures, delicate tonal variations, and small details that reveal themselves gradually.

There is something inherently romantic about this approach. The palette feels reminiscent of the final golden weeks of summer, when gardens are abundant and the light becomes softer, warmer, and more golden. It is a season that feels both abundant and fleeting, making it a natural inspiration for a wedding editorial centred on timeless romance.

Romantic stationery, heirloom-inspired details, delicate ribbons, elegant paper goods, and softly coloured florals establish the visual language from the very beginning.
