Adventurous Snowboarding Wedding in Lake Louise

Aaaaaah when great couples let loose on their wedding day, it is THE BEST! It’s clear from these photos by WildLove Photography that Bree and Bart are a couple who value love and laughter above all else. From snowboard down the mountain in their wedding attire to what looks like a beautiful (yet freezing) trash the dress session afterwards, there are too many beautiful and charming photos to count. Bree rounded out her bridal style with a beautiful oversized bloom attached to a pearl corsage with a detachable trailing of pearls, crystals and small blooms from Down The Well Designs, and each of her bridesmaids wore matching custom oversized blooms.

From the Bride:

While getting ready our photographer took my dress outside to get some pictures of it (which turned out fantastic). However, it was the allotted time that we were supposed to be getting ready to head to the ski resort so my dad (who took his getting the bride to the wedding on time role very seriously) went on a hunt for my dress. He wasn’t too sure what to make of finding it in a tree, but he got it for me and we were good to get on our way.

On the way to the ski resort nerves were getting a little high so the whole car started singing “we’re going to the mountain and we are going to get married” to the tune We’re going to the chapel. It helped to lighten the mood. Once we arrived people we didn’t know were excited we were going up the mountain to get married and asked if they could come watch and join along.

I thought snowboarding down the mountain was going to be the biggest challenge of the day. It turns out that I was wrong. While dancing down the aisle and collecting my family and kids as I went the biggest problem we ran into was all of us stepping or tripping on my dress. Riding in my dress ended up being easier then walking or dancing in it in the end.

We had so much fun riding down the Mountain with our family and guests all dressed up. Stopped for a snowball fight while riding down. As a bonus it was easier to ride in my dress then I thought and our wicked snowboarding photographer got so many amazing shots along the way! When we got to the bottom anyone who was around gathered around to clap and cheer for us and apparently there was a big group gathered and cheering in the parking lot as well. It was pretty cool and so much fun having strangers join in the fun with us, our friends and loved ones.

While visiting the hotel during our rehearsal weekend my husband heard the trains going by and thought it would be fun for pictures to pretend to tie me to the tracks. So we asked for my dad to bring us some rope and headed out as our last photo spot of the day before heading to the reception. Our guests were a little nervous when shortly after that they heard a train going by but we had cleared out
by then.

During the reception my husband surprised me by having our groomsmen lift me up in the chair for the garter toss. He couldn’t understand why I was so surprised, he thought that was tradition. It made for some hilarious pictures!
