As a wise woman once said: “Let it go”….(insert Frozen theme song). On a serious note, don’t sweat the small stuff and keep the bigger picture in mind.
That’s the best marriage advice I’ve heard in a while. Susan and Dustin planned a modern wedding with touches of vibrant blue infused throughout and it was photographed by Filipek Photography. We love the detailed embellishments on the bodice of Susan’s gown – the perfect amount of sparkle for this perfect wedding day! Meet the entire Creative Team after the jump!
From the bride:
Our wedding incorporated the best of both cultures and both families. We wanted our union to represent both sides and to keep as many traditions as possible. Susan and her wedding party’s day started at the crack of dawn with hair and makeup before the tea ceremony which was held at Susan’s parents’ home. We both had traditional outfits for the ceremony and as commonly seen, decorations of the double happiness character could be found throughout the home. The bride and groom will serve tea to their family members, one family at a time, and in return the family members will provide their blessing.
The afternoon ceremony and reception took place at the Wedding Pavillion. We had a dress change and at this time we exchanged vows and had a night full of games, dinner, dancing and memories to last a lifetime.
Our wedding colours were white and blue/indigo and we stayed with a simple modern style. We also kept with our fusion style in our wedding favours by using a Chinese take-out box to house Jordan almonds with chopsticks that had the love character on them tied atop.
The wedding was the culmination of only 4 short months of intense wedding planning, all while trying to prepare for the new addition to our family when Oliver came into our lives just 5 months later.
The planning went quickly, but the wedding went by even quicker. We were able to spend much desired time with our family, friends, and loved ones. We shared memories, stories, and lots of laughs throughout the day.
