Wedding and lifestyle photography (has) emerged naturally… I love that it encompasses so many different aspects, I love the challenges it provides and the opportunity it gives to tell diverse and dynamic stories.
Style can’t always be defined with words – that’s a great point that Cedna of Cedna Photography made when I was asking her about her photography style. It’s all in the eye of the beholder – what’s glamourous to me isn’t always glamourous to you. It’s about capturing honest and simple images that convey character and authenticity. Now if that doesn’t sound beautiful, we don’t know what does.
Having travelled as far as Cuba to shoot weddings, Cedna first became passionate about creativity and photography followed suit. Growing up with a revolving door of artists, poets and writer visiting her father, creativity was a part of conversation. Now, Cedna spends her time not only loving photography but pushing herself creatively. Meeting with her couples as much to a year out from their wedding dates gives her ample time to get to know them, and with her open personality, it’s easy for clients to be true to themselves around her, which makes for amazing photographs. And as all photographers know – couples planning their weddings are busy, and Cedna’s respect for that and willingness to give guidance and advice when needed and asked makes her a valuable team member.
When she’s not capturing the perfect moments for brides and grooms, Cedna photographs even more love – the love between families and children. Her passion for travel photography remains strong and her absolute favourite photography subject is her beautiful, reliable and patient model, her 3 year old daughter.
