From the Creative Team:
Who says you can’t bring a little vintage-modern flair to the breathtaking beauty of the mountains? More and more couples are choosing to escape the hustle and bustle of the city in favour of a wedding experience that feels intimate, intentional, and deeply connected to nature. They want to leave behind the stress and distractions of everyday life and immerse themselves in the serenity of the outdoors. This elopement-styled shoot was designed to celebrate that spirit—blending the raw beauty of the mountains with a touch of vintage elegance and modern sophistication.

The Perfect Setting
Nestled in the heart of Nordegg, Alberta, The Stix Cabin provided the ideal setting for this vision to come to life. From the nostalgic charm of a vintage record player to the sleek black accents in the cabin’s décor, every detail contributed to a seamless fusion of past and present. The screened-in patio, where fresh mountain air mingled with the scent of a romantic cake for two, offered the perfect place for an intimate celebration. Just a short hike from the cabin, a stunning overlook became the ideal spot for a heartfelt vow exchange, framed by panoramic mountain views. As the sun dipped below the horizon, golden-hour portraits captured the romance of the day, tying everything together in a breathtaking finale.
Aesthetic Choices: Timeless Black and White
For the aesthetic, I chose a classic black-and-white color palette, which elevated the elegance of the shoot while maintaining a timeless, effortless charm. The florals were kept simple and refined, allowing the natural scenery to shine. The stationery followed suit—minimalist yet sophisticated, with delicate typography on textured paper. The bridal look featured subtle yet stunning details: a flowing veil that caught the mountain breeze, radiant jewelry that shimmered against the soft evening light, and a groom’s floral pocket square that added just the right amount of character.

Bride’s Fashion: Effortlessly Chic and Timeless
For this modern mountain elopement, the bride’s fashion was all about balancing contemporary style with classic elegance. She wore a stunning white mini dress with long sleeves, creating a playful yet sophisticated look that perfectly matched the natural mountain surroundings. The dress, with its sleek silhouette, brought a fresh twist to traditional bridal wear, while the long sleeves added a touch of timeless grace. To complete the look, the bride wore a cathedral veil, which gracefully cascaded down her back, adding drama and elegance to her outfit. The veil complemented the romantic vibe of the day, creating the perfect blend of modern and vintage-inspired bridal fashion. Whether framed by the rustic cabin or captured against the stunning mountain backdrop, her ensemble made a statement of chic simplicity and effortless beauty.

Embracing Contrast: Rugged Meets Refined
This shoot was all about embracing contrast—pairing rugged landscapes with polished styling, and weaving modern minimalism into vintage romance. It was proof that even in the heart of nature, you can create a wedding experience that feels both elevated and deeply personal. Whether you dream of an elopement filled with adventure or a day that feels like an elegant retreat, the mountains provide the perfect backdrop for a love story that’s uniquely yours.
