This romantic vintage summer shoot is inspired by the real-life love story of the owners of Forget Me Knot Retreat, reminiscent of The Notebook. It’s a story of enduring love, deep connection, and choosing each other through every season of life.

At Forget Me Knot Retreat, every stay is intentionally designed to give you more of what truly matters: presence, peace, and connection. Stepping away from the rush of everyday life, this rustic Alberta escape offers a rare kind of stillness. No distractions. No expectations. Just uninterrupted time together, and the kind of memories that linger long after you leave.

Inspired by a Timeless Love Story

When I was asked to design the overall look for an intimate wedding at the cabin, Amanda and Sean’s story naturally became the heart of the vision. The Notebook served as my guiding inspiration. Its softness, nostalgia, and timeless romance shaped every detail. I wanted to create a setting where couples could write their own unforgettable chapter.

Since much of the film is set in the 1940s, I leaned into that era. Weaving in vintage charm with an intimate, romantic summer outdoor wedding aesthetic.

Thoughtful Details and Design

Molly of Molly D Photography beautifully captured every timeless element. From the vintage-inspired, minimalist stationery to the soft, natural palette of peach, white, ivory, and toffee tones, every detail felt effortless and refined. The garden-style ceremony, romantic tablescape, and delicate florals all worked in harmony to create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.

Romantic Styling and Golden Light

The bridal gown, paired with soft glam hair and makeup, complemented the groom’s classic suit, elevating that vintage romantic feel. The lace carousel umbrella and the golden hour light added an unmistakable softness, bringing the entire vision to life.

The cabin and its breathtaking natural surroundings became part of the story itself. And of course, no tribute to The Notebook would be complete without a picture-perfect moment in a canoe on the pond.
