From the Creative Team:
The story of Zach and RaeAnnon’s wedding began long before any official planning started. It all started with a shared Pinterest board filled with dreamy bouquets, scenic venues, and colour palettes they both loved. Even while they were still dating, they found themselves dreaming about the kind of day they might one day share. What began as casual daydreams slowly grew into a vision—one that would eventually become a beautiful, joy-filled celebration of their love.
The Planning
Not long after the engagement, the wedding planning began in earnest. The couple quickly chose a date and location, and RaeAnnon soon found her dream dress. From there, the details slowly but surely started falling into place.
Their vision was simple, timeless, and elegant—and that style carried through every part of their wedding. The floral arrangements, crafted by Wascana Flower Shoppe, were bursting with bright and joyful colours: pinks, yellows, blues, and greens. The flowers were so beautiful, RaeAnnon says she’s still in love with them to this day.

The bridesmaids’ dresses were carefully chosen to match the vibrant floral palette, and one of the most special touches came from RaeAnnon’s mother-in-law, who offered to make the dresses herself. With RaeAnnon’s clear vision and her mother-in-law’s talent and attention to detail, each dress turned out beautifully and full of meaning.

The Ceremony
Zach and RaeAnnon were married in a quiet little valley near Lumsden. The spot was chosen for its natural beauty and calm—tall trees, golden grass, and just the right amount of privacy. The weather was ideal: mid-20s with a gentle breeze. It was, quite literally, the perfect day for an outdoor ceremony.
In a unique and personal twist, Zach and his groomsmen (along with the adorable ring bearer) arrived at the ceremony on dirt bikes—a nod to Zach’s lifelong love of motocross. It was a fun and unexpected entrance that added so much personality to the day.

One of RaeAnnon’s favourite memories happened just after the marriage certificate was signed. Her dad had secretly purchased an old train horn, and once the papers were official, their younger brothers ran across the field and blew the horn, surprising everyone and adding a hilarious and memorable moment to the ceremony.

The Reception
The reception was held in Zach’s parents’ backyard, transformed into a magical venue with string lights and a stunning view of their tree line. It felt warm, intimate, and completely them.

Two of Zach’s uncles acted as MCs for the evening and brought the perfect blend of humour and heart. One uncle, an auctioneer from Montana, surprised guests by holding an impromptu auction. The item? A mysterious, covered object later revealed to be a hilariously awkward painting of a bald eagle. The bidding war that followed had the entire crowd laughing.
Dinner was a feast prepared with love by friends and family. The menu included smoked brisket, baked potatoes, and a variety of homemade salads. For dessert, the couple opted out of a traditional wedding cake. Though RaeAnnon’s mom had made many wedding cakes over the years and expected to make theirs, they surprised her by choosing cheesecake instead—and it was a huge hit.

The Grand Exit
As the night drew to a close, speeches from close friends and family filled the evening with laughter and emotion. Then came a truly unforgettable sendoff.
Zach’s dad, a pilot, flew the couple out in his plane. As they took off, they soared over the reception, waving down at the guests below. Seeing all their loved ones gathered under the stars, celebrating, was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Every detail of Zach and RaeAnnon’s wedding reflected who they are—joyful, thoughtful, and full of love. From hand-sewn dresses to train horn surprises, it was a day crafted with care, meaning, and memories that will last a lifetime.
