Intimate Elopement in the Rockies

From the Creative Team:

Yelizaveta and Kyrylo’s intimate elopement took a magical turn the night before the couple’s wedding. It was one of those moments that make you believe in magic In a bold and beautiful twist, they made the decision to change their venue at the last minute—trading their original plans for something even more extraordinary: the House of the Friesians near Invermere, BC. When they shared their decision with me, I was completely on board. It was as if the location had been waiting for them all along, perfectly aligning with the energy of their love and vision.

Nestled in the quiet of a wildflower-dotted meadow with the majestic Rockies towering in the distance, their ceremony couldn’t have felt more intimate or more right. There was a calm stillness in the air, the kind that makes you stop and soak it all in—the soft hum of nature, the serene exchange of vows, and the overwhelming presence of love that seemed to linger in the very air around them.

Yelizaveta looked absolutely radiant in her princess-style gown, which included a flowing hoop skirt that gave every movement a sense of timeless grace. She floated through the field like something out of a fairytale, each step imbued with magic. But beneath all the beauty and elegance, there was a deeper layer to their story—a quiet, sweet secret they held close to their hearts, one that added even more depth to an already emotional day.

As the ceremony unfolded, it became clear that this was not just a wedding—it was a profound moment of connection. These kinds of weddings, small yet mighty, are some of my absolute favourites. They’re intentional, deeply personal, and allow time to breathe and reflect. In the midst of all the stillness, there’s a space for the couple to truly connect with one another, and for me as a witness to feel like a part of something deeply meaningful.

The magic of elopements like this isn’t just in the vows exchanged or the breathtaking scenery—it’s in the quiet moments that unfold between the couple. It’s the way they hold each other’s gaze, the way their hands intertwine during a shared laugh, the unscripted moments that become the most powerful memories. In these small, sacred weddings, you can almost feel the love radiating from the couple and know that this moment will stay with them forever.

This wedding was not just about the celebration of two people in love. It was about honouring the journey, the quiet and the loud moments, and the beauty of taking risks to make sure that the day feels just right. It’s in these moments, tucked away in the wildflowers and against the backdrop of towering peaks, that life’s most precious memories are made.
