I was so excited when Ray & Klaudia reached out to me about the micro-wedding they were planning for the “spring” in Calgary. From the beginning, Ray & Klaudia told me they didn’t want their wedding to be big or traditional – which really resonated with me. I primarily photograph smaller weddings & elopements and I LOVE anything that strays away from the ordinary. R & K were planning their elopement during the middle of Covid and it was proving to be quite difficult to find a space where they could hold their event but luckily Ray’s mom found the perfect unassuming spot in her neighbourhood community centre in Airdrie. Complete with a homemade arch, a balloon wall, flowers and floating candles, the humble community centre was transformed into a cute ceremony space where these two could tie the knot in front of only their most near & dear. After the ceremony, we all wandered over to the open field next door and took some family photos with all the bubbles and laughter you could imagine. For their wedding portraits, Ray & Klaudia requested something unique and more fun than the traditional stiff posing you see in a lot of wedding photos. I had such a great time playing around with these two creating some art and laughing a lot. It didn’t take any convincing to have Ray & Klaudia roll around in the grass together until the sun went down & we were all a bit cold and ready for some food. As you’ll be able to tell from the photos, these two not only have amazing style (both rocking epic suits) but their love for each other is so all-encompassing. I cried during their vows and I left wanting to be their friends for life. I’m so grateful my job connects me to beautiful humans like this. Congrats Ray & Klaudia, can’t wait to see what amazing things you do together!
