From the Creative Team:
Two words that are meant to go hand in hand are ‘adventure’ and ‘elopement’ – which was the inspiration behind this Camper Van Elopement at Abraham Lake. We have seen an increase in elopements over the past couple of years and we are absolutely on board for starting a life together with an adventure!
The opportunities for elopements are endless, we wanted to showcase an intimate mountain and frozen lake setting to inspire the fact that you can elope at any time of year, any day of the week, in any location. No crowded venue, no background noise, no one-time use décor. The idea and ability to go back to the place where you exchanged vows ignites the romantic in all of us! Abraham Lake is known for the beautiful ice bubbles once the lake freezes over and what better way to celebrate an anniversary than adventuring back to this serene location.
One struggle with elopements can be having a space to change, get wedding ready, and of course, a place for snacks! We have you covered with this beautiful camper van. Eloping with a camper van gives you convenience, adventure, and makes for great photo opportunities. Pink Sky Photography was able to showcase this by capturing photos outside the van for the elopement ceremony and inside the van for a reception for two. An amazing charcuterie spread by Grazing Tables YEG made for the perfect on-to-go snack while the van acted as a shelter from the cold.
The idea behind the styling and décor was to utilize what a couple may already have available to them. Look Styling creates a more intimate setting where the couple’s vibe is 100% represented. Looking back on the photos quite literally gives a sense of home. The signage and vow books by Paper Blush make for amazing keepsakes. The all dried bouquet and focal point by Local Roots Floral & Design last in the Alberta cold and can be deconstructed and reused for home (or van!) décor.
With adventure in mind, why not combine your elopement with your honeymoon with this Camper Van inspired elopement. We think there are few better options than a road trip to the mountains, a reception for two exploring a frozen lake with ice bubbles, and driving off in your wedding dress and hiking boots to start the adventure of married life.
