From the Creative Team:
Henry and Gretel’s wedding at the Art Gallery of Alberta revolved around family and tradition. Prior to their wedding ceremony, the couple included a very old tradition of the tea ceremony. It is always touching to see how elders react to these moments. Not only something fun to do, but it is a chance to honour those who came before and show appreciation for those who got us here.
Weddings are so much more than what a lot of people think, it’s not just a really big show or a day to play the role of prince and princess. It’s about family. It’s about honest moments and traditions. For many, it’s a chance to connect with their past and their culture, especially second generation children. A lot of us grew up not fully understanding why our parents did what they did or believed what they believed in.
It was an honour to be a part of such a beautiful wedding
