Alberta doesn’t get enough credit for the variety of landscapes we have that provide the perfect backdrops for weddings and elopements. Today’s desert bohemian inspiration shoot from Calgary wedding planner Moments by Madeleine and Calgary wedding photographer Kadie Hummel Photography is the perfect example. Set in Drumheller, the Badlands provide the perfect sandy backdrop for this bohemian shoot filled with sexy neutrals. Highlights that our hearts are loving include the adorable mobile bar, the perfect 60’s boho touch, as well as the inspired decor and rentals from Orange Trunk vintage styling and rentals, a team with a catalog of decor items that are perfect for this shoot! From the planner:
Collaborating with Salut Mobile Bar to showcase a part of Alberta we often forget about and bringing in both feminine and earthy elements to an intimate elopement was the perfect summer evening. Drumheller is a beautiful part of Alberta that is often over shadowed by the majestic Rocky Mountains to the west. Driving in you feel like you’ve been transported into a desert full of hoodoos and neutral tones, not a mountain in sight. I knew I wanted to go in a more boho direction with a toffee, blush, and peach colour palette with natural textures. Vintage rentals from Orange Trunk set the tone of the intimate affair of the beautiful couple and their witnesses. I mean, how can you not love the look of that peacock chair against the desert backdrop! A high low cut bridal gown from Blush & Raven covered in three-dimensional appliques and a dark peach bridesmaid gown from Maide The Label fits the aesthetic perfectly. I knew I wanted to go a bit wilder with the groom’s suit and try a colour that you wouldn’t often see as traditional grooms attire. Supreme Menswear was able to provide us with a mauve and grey plaid patterned suit with a textured grey tie, how sharp! The cake had sugar eucalyptus details from Bake My Day and Chickweed Cottage created arrangements from dried elements and fresh blooms. They sipped french 75’s out of vintage glassware as the sunset, it really was the perfect summer evening.
