Dana & Fedja’s Calgary wedding was featured in the latest Calgary Bridal Guide, but we loved their style so much, we had to share more photos from their beautiful wedding, shot by f8 photography. A classic wedding at heart, this couple punched up their style with quirky decor pieces, like fresh peaches as place cards and lit paper lanterns decorating the tables. Dana & Fedja are a perfect fit for each other. Both highly educated, organized & family oriented people. When it came to their wedding they were no different – organized to the minute, no detail overlooked & every person who attended their wedding was there because they were very special & loved by Dana & Fedja. For wedding photography they were also very clear with what they wanted to be captured & even had great ideas of locations they thought suited them. This made our job a lot easier. Then put these 2 beautiful, kind, loving people in front of the camera & their chemistry is incredible. Though they’ve been together for 9 years & done their share living in separate cities, attending different schools & all the challenges that long distance relationships bring – these two are rock solid. Friends & family are everything to them so the reception was full of emotional moments, moving speeches, tears & laughter.

From the couple:

The things that were most important to us were first and foremost, to be surrounded by an intimate group of our family (who are very important to us) and close friends, and also to commemorate the both the solemnity and humour that we attribute to a successful marriage, to eat well, to laugh lots, to dance up a storm, to reflect our passions (i.e. burnt orange was one of our colours because the groom is a huge Longhorns fan, the nutella cr me brulee and macarons are our favourite sweets, the red wine was from the same winery as the wine we drank on our first date, the songs we entered with and danced to at the reception had history for us, etc), and host the most fun party we had ever thrown.

How they met:

Exactly ten years before our wedding day, we both moved into our first year residence at McGill University. We met in the res cafeteria at lunch one day and immediately became friends (and apparently we also had secret designs to be more than friends!)

Fedora’s favourite moment of the wedding:

Sealing the deal in front of our family and closest friends. And taking a private moment immediately after the ceremony to soak in the moment.

Dana’s favourite moment of the wedding:

Having the chance to officially our love with family and the close friends that had seen our relationship blossom over the years, dancing up a storm and getting so excited that I stole a kiss while the ceremony was still going on!
