Ice Princess Wedding Inspiration from One Edition Photography

One of the best parts about living on the edge of the Rocky Mountains is our unique ability to get out and seriously explore. From the badlands to the rolling foothills to the peaks of mountains, for bold couples looking for a true adventure wedding, there is no better place than Alberta. The Ice Caves at Haffer Creek are the perfect location for thrill seeking couples who want to lose their breath before their love takes their breath away. For the 2015 Luxe by Calgary Bride, Raf and Meg of One Edition Photography took our Editor-In-Chief, Catherine Hazin, on an epic trek to the ice caves of Alberta to shoot these incredible images.

Here’s what our Editor, Catherine, had to say!

The first Luxe shoot of the 2015 season was a modelling expedition featuring One Edition Photography.

The location for this fashion shoot was an ice climbing cave that our Photographer, Raf, frequented near Haffner Creek, BC. It was full of sculptural stalagmites, and unique rock formations. We featured two gorgeous, statuesque gowns from Cameo and Cufflinks, which looked incredible next to the impressive ice formations.

It’s a good thing our beautiful model/HMUA, Ivonne Arsenault is incredibly strong and brave. Her sense of humor also came in handy, as we strapped crampons onto her feet and a mirror to my back to begin our 1 hour “walk” to the ice cave.

Every photo shoot we do is an opportunity for us to make a statement about fashion. The fashion statement we have made with this shoot is that the pursuit of beauty is not superficial; it takes courage, knowledge and confidence. Understanding fashion is about understanding what it is to be human, and expressing that through personal style.
