With events and weddings being forced to smaller scales, utilizing unique and creative venue’s is now more on the forefront of couples’ minds than ever before. This was the reason for choosing Calgary’s Orchard Restaurant for our styled shoot. Using the following words to describe itself “Lush, luxury, casual elegance, abandoned beauty, immersive experience, distinct”, this venue is a beautiful choice for an intimate event. The detailed images captured by Christy D Swanberg Photography, showcase the creativity that can be curated in such a unique space.

The idea behind the design and décor of this styled shoot was to add the right touches of layers and elements to the already plant-licious, colorful, romantic vibe of the restaurant, without it becoming overwhelming. The inspiration of the design stemmed from the elegant floral charger plate from Modern Rentals. Florals were a touch point in every aspect of the shoot, from the fun fine- art center piece & bouquet created by Flower Artistry, the romantic & whimsy Alena Leena wedding dress chosen by Blush & Raven and the beautiful cake created by Bake My Day.

The shoot blended a mixture of styles. The pops of classic brushed gold candle holders complemented the bold black marbled tabletop, while the custom stationery by The Social Page added a modern contrast to the vintage glassware and boho table runner and furniture pieces. For the ceremony, romantic large glass cylinder vases and candles were used to anchor the luxe gold Orchard signage. By curating an amazing team of vendors, each one provided the perfect elements for this modern whimsical wedding.
