Vintage Romance at Forest Manor

From the Creative Team:

This styled shoot at Forest Manor was created from a shared love of vintage romance, moody settings, and thoughtful design. The collaboration began with a desire to create something unique that reflected each artist’s individual style while offering inspiration for couples looking for something different for their own weddings.

The concept was brought to life by photographers Emily Hamilton from Emily Hamilton Media and Aly from AlyDio Photos, alongside wedding planner and designer Alison Henstridge of AF Weddings & Events. Together, they collaborated with a talented vendor team to create an editorial rooted in atmosphere, texture, and vintage-inspired storytelling.

A Historic Setting with Timeless Character

Forest Manor provided the foundation for the design. Its warm interiors, aged textures, and historic character naturally shaped the mood of the shoot. The goal was to work with the venue’s existing charm and create a story that felt connected to the space.

Design Inspired by Vintage Romance

The styling was intentionally built around vintage details that felt authentic to the setting. Vintage plateware, classic candle holders, and antique-inspired cutlery were chosen to reflect the romantic theme and reinforce the old-world atmosphere. Simple ribbons added softness and movement, while carefully draped linens were pleated to create texture and depth across the table scape. It gave the design a layered and lived-in feel.

Moody Florals and Rich Texture

Florals played an important role in shaping the atmosphere of the editorial. Moody arrangements, featuring deep red and green tones, complements the manor’s darker interiors and enhance the warmth of the space. Combined with textured linens and vintage décor, the floral palette added richness, elegance, and a sense of intimacy throughout the design.

Photography Through Two Perspectives

The photography reflected the collaboration between two distinct artistic styles. Aly leaned into ambient light and mood-driven imagery, capturing softness and emotion through natural atmosphere. Emily incorporated flash and film-inspired elements, adding a nostalgic quality reminiscent of analogue photography. Together, their approaches created a balance between intimacy and editorial storytelling.

A Collaborative Vision

At its core, this editorial was about creative collaboration and a shared appreciation for vintage romance. Each artist contributed their own perspective, blending moody design, historic character, and intentional styling into a cohesive vision. The goal was to inspire couples to embrace a nostalgic, moody atmosphere for their own wedding day and to show that meaningful, character-filled design can exist outside of traditional expectations.
