Beautiful Canmore winter elopement in the Rocky Mountains, this chilly winter day brought a beautiful couple together featuring unique blue wedding colours.
Written by the bride + groom:
We got engaged in November and by December decided to elope in Canmore surrounded by the Rocky Mountains! Our original wedding plan was for an outdoor wedding on the Canadian prairies this June, but we both love the mountains and we went searching for a location. We couldn’t find anywhere as beautiful as Canmore. When planning the wedding, I had already found and ordered my wedding dress, it was actually the first wedding dress I ever tried on. Both of our families were thrilled and able to make our elopement date work! Everything fell into place with Jenelle (our photographer), our venue for the reception (Coast Canmore Hotel), and our families were able to help with all of the details including the florals. We had the wedding planned in about a month. Somehow we were all able to keep the whole thing a secret!
On the big day it was snowing, windy, and -10 and everyone was bundled up in jackets and blankets. We held the ceremony outside with a beautiful view of the mountains. Having such an intimate wedding felt even more special as we had a close family friend marry us. After warming up in vehicles, we ran through family photos, somehow making everyone look warm despite the wind and snow. I may be biased, but our day felt magical and was the perfect beginning to a lifetime together!
