Timeless Elegance at The Hotel Saskatchewan

From the Creative Team:

There is something undeniably romantic about an elegant wedding at The Hotel Saskatchewan. Its historic architecture, elegant interiors, and timeless character create a setting that feels almost made for photographs. But for Philip and Taliyah, the beauty of their wedding day extended far beyond the walls of the hotel.

It was found in the people who surrounded them, the generations gathered together, the quiet moments shared between photographs, and the anticipation that filled the morning before they became husband and wife.

With approximately 300 family members and friends gathered to celebrate, their wedding was a true reflection of what matters most to them: family, friendship, connection, and the beginning of a new chapter together.

A Morning Filled With Anticipation

The morning began separately, with Taliyah surrounded by her bridesmaids and mother as she prepared for the day ahead.

There is something special about photographing these quieter hours of a wedding. Before the ceremony begins and before the room fills with guests, there is a sense of stillness and anticipation. Every detail feels significant because, in a few hours, the day will become a memory.

Taliyah’s Justin Alexander Iverson gown, worn without its sleeves, created a classic and sophisticated foundation for her bridal look. Her carefully chosen details added another layer to the story, from her jewellery and shoes to the invitation suite, wedding rings, and handwritten vows.

Rather than simply documenting what she wore, these details offered glimpses into who Taliyah is and what this day meant to her.

Across the hotel, Philip prepared with his groomsmen. His morning carried that familiar combination of anticipation, laughter, and camaraderie that makes getting ready with the people you love such an important part of the wedding experience.

The photographs from these moments are often some of the most personal of the day. A button being fastened. A jacket being adjusted. A laugh shared between friends. A quiet moment alone before everything begins.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Family

When the ceremony began, two separate mornings became one shared celebration.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Philip and Taliyah exchanged their vows and officially began their marriage. With so many people gathered in one place, the significance of the moment extended beyond the couple themselves.

Their wedding was also a celebration of the relationships that had brought them there.

Following the ceremony, Philip and Taliyah made intentional time for family portraits. With approximately 300 guests in attendance, there were countless relationships worth preserving.

These photographs are more than traditional wedding portraits. They become part of a family’s visual history.

Years from now, the photographs of Philip and Taliyah together will be meaningful, but so will the photographs of the people standing beside them on this particular day. The generations gathered together. The hugs. The laughter. The people who travelled to celebrate them.

Portraits at the Hotel Saskatchewan

Once the formalities of the ceremony and family portraits were complete, the afternoon became an opportunity for Philip and Taliyah to simply enjoy being newlyweds.

The Hotel Saskatchewan provided an incredible architectural backdrop for their portraits. Its historic character, refined interiors, and classic details naturally lent themselves to an editorial approach while still allowing the photographs to feel intimate and genuine.

For Philip and Taliyah, the goal was never to create photographs that felt overly posed or disconnected from who they are.

Instead, we wanted their portraits to feel romantic, refined, and effortless. There are the grand portraits: the architecture, the sweeping compositions, the elegant details.

When Elegance Meets Emotion

What makes Taliyah and Philip’s wedding especially memorable is the way elegance and emotion coexist throughout the imagery.

The setting is undeniably sophisticated. The architecture is historic. The details are carefully considered. Taliyah’s bridal look is timeless, and Philip’s suit is beautifully tailored.

But none of that overshadows the people at the centre of the celebration.

These small details, placed alongside the larger moments of the day, create a wedding story that feels both editorial and deeply personal.

A Celebration That Felt Like Them

The most beautiful weddings are not necessarily the ones with the most elaborate details. They are the ones where the details, traditions, people, and photographs all feel connected to the couple.

For Philip and Taliyah, their wedding day was about gathering the people they love and celebrating this new chapter surrounded by family and friends.

It was about the excitement of getting ready in the morning, the emotion of walking into the ceremony, the joy of seeing generations of family together, and the quiet realization that they had finally become husband and wife.

And throughout it all, there was an unmistakable sense of togetherness.

Their photographs reflect elegant without feeling distant. Romantic without feeling overly staged. Refined while still preserving the warmth and emotion of the day.

Beginning Their Marriage Surrounded by the People They Love

A wedding day passes remarkably quickly.

The morning becomes the ceremony. The ceremony becomes portraits. Portraits become dinner, speeches, dancing, and the celebration that carries late into the evening. But photographs have the ability to slow those moments down.

For Philip and Taliyah, their wedding at The Hotel Saskatchewan was not simply about creating a beautiful celebration. It was about honouring the relationships that brought them to this moment, gathering the people who matter most, and beginning their marriage surrounded by family and friends.

And in the photographs, that feeling remains.

Long after the flowers have faded, the music has ended, and the wedding day itself has become a memory, these photographs will continue to tell the story of the day Philip and Taliyah began their marriage, surrounded by the people they love, in a place as timeless as the promises they made to one another.
